My favorite was Miss Suzy by Miriam Young. I think for awhile I was asking for that every night.
It was hard to find for awhile, but it's been reissued!

I know and love almost all of the ones you've listed...but of course, there are so many more I {and my kids} love, like: The Large & Growly Bear, Giraffe & a Half, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Goodnight Moon, The Big Red Barn, anything by Sandra Boynton - but Let's Dance Little Pookie is my fave, Only in Dreams, The Velveteen Rabbit, The Costume Party (by Chess), The Pout Pout Fish...I'm sure I'll think of more and have to leave you lots of comments. But that's it for tonight. Goodnight sister.
these lists make me so happy.
Thanks Lia!
Thanks Cumo!
Ci, YOU make me happy!
Thank you for this! I am going to request all of the ones I haven't read from the library immediately.
I love William Steig, the Berenstain Bears, and Mercer Mayer.
Little Hoot, it's about an owl who has to stay up late to become wise. Like every good two-year old, he rebels and tries to go to bed early. Happy Hocky Family is pretty good.
Ashley! You won't regret it. And I am already excited just thinking of Elizabeth and Natalie and little Nathan getting to hear such great treasures. You are an amazing mother. I will tell you too that out of ones you may not yet be familiar with, How Hungry Are You?, The Three Questions, and Spoon may be my favorites. The first one is so funny. I couldn't stop laughing. I couldn't stop reading it again and again. And The Three Questions is so thoughtful and sweet.
Chris, I cannot wait to read Little Hoot. With such a description, I have a sneaking suspicion it may become a new favorite. And one of my goals before I come to DC is make you a book list, in exchange for the one you so graciously made me that many years ago now.
Chris, I will add now too, that you (and Eli) need to read The Three Questions, if you haven't already. And probably other books by that author/illustrator. They are philosophy.
I also read a book called "Are you my Mother" when I was little. I want us to write books.
Meggie, I like that idea. A lot a lot alot.
I love this list. I think its my favourite list that you have done so far. :)
This is one of my favorite list on your entire blog.
