Didn't you LOVE Weetzie Bat? I need to read Book Thief and you need to read Speak, The Wednesday Wars and Annie on My Mind!

I only realized yesterday that Betty actually got me a copy of Eating Animals. It arrived yesterday. I am almost finished reading it.

What did you think of "Paper Towns"? I have read his "Looking for Alaska" and "An Abundance of Katherines" but not his latest. What are your thoughts?

Elizabeth, Weetzie Bat is amazing. I a little bit feel like it is Kerouac for kids, with the melodious writing, and the strange names. I am reading the rest of the Weetzie Bat books right now. They are magic.

Jim, I am still reading Eating Animals. I do like it, but it is taking me forever. The first few chapters are remarkably beautiful, and told in a narrative. I suppose the later chapters are also told in a narrative, just one more inclusive of factory farming details, and they make me sad and/or grossed out, which is maybe all the more reason to read them. Thus far I think it is an important book.

David, I remember that gift from Betty, and was present for the inscription. That Jonathan Safran Foer sure is kind.

Cate, I loved, loved Paper Towns, and even asked for it for Christmas. I laughed so much and felt pretty deeply.
