The reason:
Once upon a time, in a month long, long ago (aka March), many a thing I was interested in was due, on the same day. Some serious things, and some silly things. I decided to try for all of them.
Thanks to that initial decision, I won a $200 gift card to a local boutique, became a 2012 Summer Scholar at St. Olafs in Minnesota to learn Danish this June/July, and most recently (read: 120 seconds ago) was accepted to speak at a conference in Copenhagen, Denmark this August(!)
